Incumbent is responsible to conduct regular inventory analysis of global stock requirement and provide recommendation to management. Senior Component Engineer - EPS Consultants - Penang

Responsibilities:
Support development and manufacturing teams to select image sensor components to meet product design requirements.
Ensure that selected components meet all fit, form, and function requirements.
Drive vendors to align with Flextronics IQC and final test requirements.
Ensure that the components meet all reliability, certification, and regulatory requirements including timely failure analysis.
Identify alternate source vendors as required.
Keep relevant documents up to date in Flextronics document systems.
Identify cost reduction opportunities on component costs.
Benchmark and meet with vendors on new technologies and lower-cost solutions.
Development of component cost models and roadmaps.
Some amount of travel (domestic and overseas) will be required.

Requirements:
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree.
At least 7 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
Direct experience with image sensors in a design, specification or use capacity.
Solid knowledge in electrical components selection; consumer electronics knowledge is highly desirable.
Good grasp of component level certification and regulatory requirements.
Accurate and detail oriented interpretation of part drawings, datasheets, and specifications is a must.
Must have high volume manufacturing experience.
Experience in component qualification and approval processes.
Must be knowledgeable of raw material and commodity markets that are key to component costs; must have proven experience benchmarking component materials to determine the best and most cost-effective design.
